I think most of you know my story... I got my computer and enjoyed learning how to surf the web etc for the first couple of months and then one evening I was listening to RMG and thought to myself "I wonder what ever happened to Andy Kim??" I remembered seeing him on Top of The Pops and thinking not only did he sing my all time ever favourite song but he was also good looking!!! I sat down and just typed in his name and up popped the forum. Dont forget I knew nothing about Andy at all other than RMG. What a shock I got to find that he had released all those other records and also co-wrote one of my favourite songs Sugar Sugar. I was on a mission then to own all his albums and I think I have them all now. All he was in the UK was a one hit wonder but he is so much more than that. My one wish is that he comes to the UK.
Love Jill xx

Well, I got the notification for your last post, Jill. I really don't understand why there's still a problem for me. I guess that just means I have to check in more often. I think that's a good thing. @8^)

I don't think I remember your saying that the forum was the first thing to pop up. I think I turned up maybe three things before I found the forum. I can't remember if there was a Wikipedia entry for Andy at that time but if there was, that was probably the first thing I found. Then there were a couple of interviews. When I searched YouTube, of course the only things I found were compilations with slideshows attached. That has really changed. We have no idea how many views the forum gets but I bet there are a lot, now that it's easier to find Andy.......YouTube, FB, Twitter, etc. And of course, there's all the great stuff Laura's posted on her various sites. She still amazes me.

Love,
Fran

Well Fran if my friend had not shown me the forum even though it was nothing but a picture and some titles that were not working yet I don't know that I would have found the forum ..Like I said I did not have a computer ..The first thing I did after seeing Andy at the Branson SummerFest 2003 was talk to my daughter and told her I need to get some of his music ..My son -in -Law ordered the one CD he could find online it was Bably I Love You and it has a lot of good oldies on it..Then one month later my friend Joyce and I were in a motel in Tulsa because we had gone to a concert there and they had a computer in the lobby so she showed the forum to me ..That was it .as soon as I got home I went to Best Buy and bought my fist computer ..And the search for all of his music began ..I also believe I have all of his songs that were every recorded on either CD ,LP or 45 .But I bet there are some hiding out there some where ..If I did not have the forum and the music to look for .Or the pictures to search for I don't know that I would ever have had a desire to have a computer ..

I have everything Andy's recorded that I know of, except one song. I can't remember now what it is but I think a couple of other people have said they didn't have it either. Of course, I'm sure there are things out there that he contributed to. I don't think the search will ever be over. Such a nice preoccupation. @8^)

I know Fran there is so much stuff. I was hampered a lot in collecting his albums because of living in the UK but thank goodness for E.Bay. Most of mine have come from USA and a couple were gifts from kind members on here. I have a few singles including 3 copies of RMG. One is so worn out but as its the one I bought back in 74 when I first heard RMG I cant throw it away lol. I have the Chapel of Love DVD and someone sent me a DVD of one of the Christmas Shows so all I need to do now is meet the man lolol

There's no doubt that we have more in common than not.

Somewhere back there, I listed what's in my Andy collection, but it's several albums, singles, CDs, the Chappel of Love DVD (I had the VCR tape but it almost set fire to my player.....hmmm, wonder if it's the content.....@8^).....), the Barnaby Jones episode with Andy, sheet music, a magazine, tons of pictures and short videos I recorded at the 2007 and 2008 Christmas Shows, the I.D. badges from those shows and of course, my artwork, blogs and memories. Also, even though I wasn't able to make it to the '09, '10, and '11 Christmas Shows, I always buy tickets (just in case) and I have all of those. I've even kept all the info from the airlines and hotel in Toronto and a few Canadian coins from the first trip.

The fun thing is that none of our collections will ever be complete.....not as long as we know there's still stuff we don't have out there. Keep it up, Andy. Keep making those memories for all of us.

Love,
Fran
